I missed the Taiwanese American book club this month - but have so enjoyed listening to you, Michelle, on the audio book of Reading with Patrick. Your journey is familiar and your posts of life in Taipei are fabulous. Thank you!!

Thank you, dear Michelle and Albert, for this ebullient post. It casts happiness forward into today. Spring is showing timid signs of starting here in NW Arkansas (I'm not going for the "false spring" I hear this phenomenon called, I KNOW it will frost hard exactly when the peach and cherry blossoms have come out) -- SCOTUS has finally shown that it will, after all, stand up when the (business) conditions are right . . . . things **might** be looking up. I'm looking up (carefully. I'm an Ox). Hugs! --Anita

Peach and cherry blossoms in Arkansas sound heavenly!!

Thank you dear Anita (my heart) for being a force of good. I'm still thinking about all our book club conversations from American Pastoral. You're an ox like my dad!! I'll do this prayer-thingy for you at the local temple =) (but you need to email me your time of birth...)

Happy Lunar New Year! Thanks for sharing the vibrancy of the book fair, and I was so happy to meet you too; a highlight of our visit. The shrine with grain offerings is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

LISA!!!! I love how you approach food with such brilliance and openness and sense of history! Yes, that shrine is just beautiful, and it was at the same shop where Albert picked up breakfast. So honored to meet you over the new year.

Ily newsletter so much! It reminds me of the cooler life I could be living in Taiwan (but often am not, out of inertia). Love seeing this city and this island through your eyes 🙂

Aww thanks Catherine for the kind words! Let me know when you are in Taiwan so I can take you to my favorite banyan tree...

yes!! this was awesome. I just love Alysa's sense of freedom and it teaches me a lot about what we all hope to become and what gives us hope during these dark times.
