Thank you so much for your "Sara and Duck" recommendation! My two-and-a-half year old daughter got into it immediately. I feel kind of ridiculous that out of everything you've written in your insanely thoughtful and deeply informative newsletter (you've expanded my understanding of Taiwan by roughly a bazillion percent), the thing that compelled me to leave a comment is a kids' TV show rec. But you understand what a relief it is to hear the dulcet tones of "Sara and Duck" in the background instead of, say, one of a bajillion shows about anthropomorphic trains/cars/etc. who all communicate through excited yelling. You've also made me feel much less terrible about my daughter repeatedly saying "ipad? ipad? ipad?" to me on weekend mornings. ;_;

Aww hope P feels better fast this time as well. Wanted to add two comments about tv shows. I also ended up loving Reservation Dogs. The first episode I thought was ok but didn’t continue the series. A friend shared her love of it so I started again and then the series really grew on me and I loved it! I’m glad there will be another season. Also- episode 5 called “Come and Get Your Love” aligned with when I read the graphic novel about the band who made that song. The book is so good and called “Redbone: The True Story of a Native American Rock Band” by Christian Staebler. Last- if P hasn’t watched Bluey on Disney plus I highly recommend! It is so funny and sweet and is pretty much the only kids show I thoroughly enjoyed watching too.

Glad that you're back! and sorry to hear about Phoebe's illness. Hope she's all okay now.

BTW now it seemed the tragic case of 恩恩 (en-en, the child's name) was the sole responsibility of the New Taipei City Government, who used their own variant of CDC's SOP. New Taipei City revised that after the case, but refused to make public more details of their mishandling.
