Loved reading this week's edition. Michelle's part about the commune really struck me -- this year, Jackie and I had a bunch of college friends whose jobs suddenly went remote, and we decided to rent a house together and live/cook/work/play together for a few weeks. It was an incredible experience -- we'd always fantasized about communes in the past, but experimenting with an actual group solidified so many of our beliefs about communal living -- that it can be a real, viable, and compelling alternative to the nuclear-family/pair-living model. That most people (I think) have so much to gain from living closely with intimate friends. We are excited to keep building off our experiment next year and glad to have this little kernel of joy in the still-raging pandemic.
